FNNBOA Announces Radon Gas Project

FNNBOA will review your construction blueprints to ensure radon reduction systems are in place for the construction of residential buildings as part of a radon gas project for your community.

The First Nations National Officers Association (FNNBOA) is offering free services to communities to address Radon gas mitigation in new construction. This project is part of the FNNBOA’s Indigenous Building Knowledge Exchange.

Radon is an invisible radioactive gas produced by the breakdown of uranium in the ground. It is found in every home in Canada. Radon is the #1 cause of lung cancer for non-smokers.

About the project

FNNBOA will review your construction blueprints to ensure radon reduction systems are in place for the construction of residential buildings. FNNBOA has retained experts in radon gas mitigation to review blueprints and provide recommendations on radon gas mitigation. We can also review your blueprints to ensure it reflects the current building code and building standards.

FNNBOA will provide this service for FREE and there will be no charge to your community.

If your community is planning to build new homes now or in the future (until March 31, 2023) we look forward to hearing from you and receiving your blueprints. In the future, FNNBOA will be offering information on radon gas in the homes and buildings.

This project is first come first served. There are some restrictions.

If you have questions regarding the project and radon, please call (613) 236-2040 or email us at info@fnnboa.ca (mailto:info@fnnboa.ca) and we will provide instructions on how to send an electronic version of your blueprints or other information. You can also directly reach John Kiedrowski, our project manager, at (613) 851-2056 or John@jkks.ca (mailto:John@jkks.ca) .

We look forward to hearing from you.
